The Butler Township Community

“…the lifestyle and amenities that appeal to people at all stages of life…”

Butler Township is a growing community of attractive homes, friendly neighborhoods and booming business development. Home to some 8,356 residents, Butler Township offers the lifestyle and amenities that appeal to people at all stages of life, from singles to retirees and everyone in between.

Companies have recognized the great opportunities awaiting them in our township, and so new business growth is skyrocketing. Most of our new retail, restaurants, hotels and other commercial enterprises are concentrated in the York Commons development, but other areas are growing as well.

The interchange of interstates 75 and 70 – the “Crossroads of America” – is located in our community, providing convenient transportation links to carry goods and people in every direction. We are also just minutes away from the Dayton International Airport.

Butler Township is located in north central Montgomery County. With two rivers – the Great Miami and the Stillwater – flowing through our community, and abundant natural areas, people find this a great place for leisure activities such as hiking, canoeing and fishing.

Just 10 minutes away, downtown Dayton offers a broad range of destinations and amenities, including the Dayton Art Museum, the Schuster Performing Arts Center, the Victoria Theater, the Oregon Historical District, the Second Street Public Market, Riverscape Park, and Fifth/Third Field, the home of minor league baseball’s Dayton Dragons. Also nearby are the Air Force Museum, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, and two major shopping malls. Click here to learn about many of the special features of the Dayton region.

We have great schools that provide children with wonderful educational and extracurricular opportunities. Our residents attend Vandalia-Butler Schools, which have achieved a rating of “excellent” by the state of Ohio. High quality private and parochial schools are also available nearby.

Our region is blessed with well-respected institutions of higher learning, including the University of Dayton, Wright State University, and Sinclair Community College. There are dozens more – such as the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University, and Ohio State University – within an hour’s drive or less.
