Property Maintenance Brochure – Download a publication that explains the details of the property maintenance code and how it is enforced. This brochure is a courtesy notice.
Registration for Political Signs – Zoning permit for applicants installing political signage. Any person responsible for distributing political signs for display in the Township shall secure one permit for all such signs representing on candidate or issue. Political signs may be displayed only during a period of 30 days before and 5 days after an election to which they pertain and not exceed 12 square feet per candidate or cause per zoning lot.
Sign Permit Application– Zoning permit for applicants installing signage on non-residential structures. This application must include a completed application with a sign elevation drawing and a site plan drawn to scale. Application fees are paid at the time when the permit process is approved.
Construction Application – Zoning permit for applicants desiring to build a new structure. This application must include a completed application an elevation drawing and a site plan drawn to scale. Application fee are paid at the time when the permit process is approved.
Property Maintenance Code Revised 1-11-The purpose of this exterior property maintenance code set of regulations is to protect the public health, safety, morals and general welfare as it pertains to premises and buildings used for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes.
Abatement of Dangerous Properties-This is a policy of Butler Township to encourage property owners to remove, repair, or secure any insecure, unsafe, defective structures or dangerous property. In cases where the property owners fail to remove, repair, or secure any dangerous property, the township may take action to remove, repair or secure those structures or dangerous property.
Nuisance Abatement-This is a policy of Butler Township to encourage property owners to voluntarily maintain their property in a nuisance free condition. When a property owner fails to do so, the Township may take appropriate action to abate the nuisance.
Construction Application- This application is for applicants desiring to build a new structure. This application must include a completed application an elevation drawing and a site plan drawn to scale. Application fee are paid at the time when the permit process is approved.
PUD-Detailed Plans Review Application-This application is to be used where topography, density or other unique conditions that make the use of standard zoning district classifications impractical.
Conditional Use Application-This application is to grant conditional zoning certificates for the use of land, buildings, or other structures, if such certificate for specific use are provided for in the Zoning Resolution.
Rezoning Application-This application is to be used for a change in zoning district classification for your property (e.g R-1, Single Family Residential to R-4 Single-And -Two Family Residential District)
Zoning Variance Application-A variance is permission to deviate in a specific manner from the terms of the zoning resolution, where, owing to special conditions of the land itself, a literal enforcement of the provisions of the zoning resolution will result in unnecessary hardship, and provided that only deviations from development standards shall be permitted.
Accessory Structure Application-Zoning permit for applicants desiring to construct/install accessory structures, usch as detached garages, storage sheds and swimming pools. This application must include a completed application which includes a site plan drawn to scale and a building elevation drawing. Application fees are paid at the time when the permit process is completed.
Certificate Of Zoning Compliance -This zoning permit is for new or relocating businesses or change of use.
Administrative Appeal Application-An appeal from a decision of the Zoning Administrator and/or a Notice of Violation by the Butler Township Zoning Inspector with respect to the interpretation or application of this Resolution may be taken to the Board of Zoning Appeals by any person aggrieved, or his agent or by any officer to the Township affected by such decision of the Zoning Administrator. Application for Appeal must be presented to the Zoning Administrator within twenty (20) days of the date that the decision or refusal of the Zoning Administrator was rendered, and from which this appeal is taken.
