Full-time Firefighter/Paramedic

Butler Township is a community of approximately 7,900 residents within an 18 square mile community located in Montgomery County, Ohio (just north of Dayton at the interchange of I-70 and I-75). The Township is a widely diverse community that includes a busy business district, upscale residential neighborhoods and farms.

The Butler Township Fire Department is currently a combination fire department staffing both full-time and part-time personnel. We are accepting applications for the immediate hiring of a Firefighter/Paramedic to work a 24/48 shift schedule.  The department is a progressive organization that boasts outstanding working conditions as well as excellent facilities and equipment.

The minimum qualifications for the positions are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current State of Ohio: EMT-Paramedic certification (by time of appointment); Level II Firefighter Certification (by time of appointment); Fire Safety Inspector (within one year of appointment); also, Hazardous Material Operation certificate; NIMS certification; current certification in; ACLS, CPR, and ability to obtain EMS Local Operating Protocol; valid Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain required continuing education hours as required to maintain all certifications

Any or all of the following testing and screening procedures may be utilized during the hiring process: examination process; CVSA; background investigation; and credit check.  Must pass physical and drug screen.
